The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is currently running the 2025 phase of its Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) program. This initiative is designed to help Nigerians gain practical trade skills to support employment and self-reliance. As the first list of successful applicants (Batch A) is released, many people are asking the same question — why is my name not on the list?
If you checked the list and couldn’t find your name, you may have applied under a different category. There are two major categories in the ITF SUPA program: Artisan and Intending Artisan. The current list only includes names from the Artisan category.
If you applied under the Intending Artisan category, your name will appear in a later batch. So, there is no need to panic.
An artisan is someone who already has skills and experience in a particular trade. This includes people who work as carpenters, tailors, electricians, plumbers, bakers, and similar trades. They already practice their craft and may be self-employed or working for someone.
An intending artisan is a person who is still learning a skill. These are the trainees or apprentices who are just beginning to gain experience. They are not yet professionals, but they want to become skilled workers in the future. This group of applicants will have their own list released separately.
If your name is not on the current list, the most likely reason is that you are under the Intending Artisan category. Your application is still being processed and your list will come out soon.
There is no need to reapply if you have already submitted your application. Just be patient and follow updates from official ITF sources or trusted coordinators.
For those who have not yet applied, there is still time to join the program. Make sure you know your correct category before applying. If you already practice a trade, apply as an Artisan. If you are still learning, apply as an Intending Artisan. Fill your details correctly and follow all instructions.
The ITF SUPA program is a great opportunity for both skilled and aspiring workers in Nigeria. Whether you’re already in a trade or just starting out, this program is made for you. Stay informed, be patient, and take advantage of this free skill development opportunity.
If your name is not on the list now, it doesn’t mean you were not selected. It may simply mean your category’s list hasn’t been released yet.
Stay connected and look out for further announcements.
