JAMB 2025 UTME: New Rules to Stay Eligible

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). With the exam scheduled to begin on April 25, 2025, JAMB has implemented strict guidelines to ensure a fair, transparent, and malpractice-free examination process.

As over 2 million registered candidates prepare for this crucial exam, JAMB has warned that failure to comply with these rules could lead to disqualification. The Board has also reinforced its zero-tolerance policy for exam malpractice, emphasizing that strict monitoring systems will be used at all Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide.

No Electronic Devices Allowed

JAMB has strictly prohibited all forms of electronic devices in the examination halls. Candidates are not allowed to bring:

• Mobile phones
• Smartwatches or wristwatches
• Calculators
• Earpieces, Bluetooth devices, or headphones
• USB drives, hard disks, or similar gadgets

JAMB officials have warned that any candidate found with any banned device will be disqualified immediately.

Mandatory Biometric Verification

JAMB has made biometric verification mandatory for all candidates before and after the exam. This measure is to prevent impersonation and identity fraud.

• Each candidate must undergo fingerprint verification before being allowed into the examination hall.

Strict Time Management for Exam Sessions

Prohibited Behavior in the Exam Hall

• Refrain from engaging in any suspicious activities that could be considered malpractice.

CBT centers will be equipped with CCTV cameras and AI-powered monitoring systems to detect any cheating attempts.

JAMB has urged candidates to carefully check their details and ensure that:

• Their name, date of birth, and other personal details match their official documents.
• They bring a printed copy of their exam slip to their CBT center.
