June 12: Tinubu Must Go, We Are Hungry – Nigerians Protest Economic Hardship

On June 12, as Nigeria celebrated Democracy Day, numerous citizens took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the current administration, protesting the severe economic hardship facing the country. Demonstrations were notably observed in Lagos and Abuja, where protestors decried the widespread hunger and financial struggles.

In Lagos, a significant number of protestors gathered in Ikeja, calling for the removal of President Bola Tinubu. They attributed their plight to the economic policies of his administration, claiming these measures have left many Nigerians struggling to feed their families. Demonstrators held placards with messages such as “President Tinubu, let the poor breathe” and “Reverse all anti-people, Neoliberal policies of privatization.”

The tyrannical and oppressive government of @officialABAT must be shown the way out. We are hungry and angry. #WeAreHungryProtest #June12Protest.”

In the nation’s capital, Abuja, citizens also gathered under the Berger Bridge to voice their grievances against the Tinubu administration. These protests underscore the increasing frustration among Nigerians over the economic challenges and the perceived inaction of the government.
