JUST IN: 40,000 Youths to Benefit from Solar Kiosk Training Across Nigeria

Elite Logistics and Development Services Limited has announced a new skills empowerment initiative aimed at training 40,000 Nigerians in the design and fabrication of the solar-powered Elite Smart Kiosk.

The programme, scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2025, will train at least 1,000 participants from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The focus is on practical skills such as carpentry, electrical wiring, solar panel installation, and kiosk assembly.

Speaking in Abuja, the Group Managing Director, David Adesanya, explained that the initiative is not just about building kiosks, but also about creating a technology-driven pathway for job creation. According to him, every kiosk produced and deployed has the potential to create employment opportunities and boost local economies.

The Elite Smart Kiosk, which is powered by solar energy, is designed to serve multiple purposes. It can be used as a retail outlet, financial services centre, healthcare station, multimedia hub, unisex salon, or even as a security post. Adesanya noted that the kiosks are energy-efficient, affordable to maintain, and aesthetically appealing—making them suitable for both private and government-led empowerment projects.

He also called on government agencies, NGOs, philanthropists, and development partners to support the adoption of these kiosks as a sustainable way of empowering young people. While the project targets youths, the programme is open to Nigerians of all ages, offering opportunities for skills acquisition and entrepreneurship beyond the under-40 demographic.

Special attention will be given to young people in North Central states such as Kogi, Niger, Benue, Kwara, and Plateau, as the firm begins its first rollout in the region.
