Kano Assembly to Reward Keke Rider for Returning Missing N15m to Chadian Businessman

Kano State, Nigeria – In a heartwarming display of integrity, a 22-year-old tricycle operator from Kano, known as ‘A Daidata Sahu,’ Auwalu Salisu, has earned the respect and admiration of the Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA). Salisu, who recently made headlines for returning a substantial sum of N15 million to a Chadian businessman, is set to be rewarded for his remarkable honesty.

The Kano State House of Assembly, comprising 40 members representing the 44 local government areas of the state, has come together to celebrate Salisu’s exemplary act of integrity. They have unanimously agreed to donate a portion of their salaries as a token of appreciation for his honesty, with the aim of inspiring others to follow his virtuous example.

Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore, emphasized the assembly’s commitment to acknowledging Salisu’s honesty. Falgore announced that Salisu will be invited to personally receive their collective donation, underscoring the significance of his integrity.

Salisu’s story of integrity began when a Chadian businessman boarded his tricycle in Kano over the weekend. Unbeknownst to the passenger, he left behind a substantial sum of money upon disembarking. Salisu, driven by his unwavering principles, discovered the forgotten cash shortly after the businessman’s departure.

Rather than seize the opportunity, Salisu immediately embarked on a mission to find the money’s rightful owner. He shared the discovery with his family, despite their ongoing financial hardships. Salisu’s father and other family members encouraged him to make every effort to return the money to its rightful owner.

The Chadian businessman, desperate to recover his lost fortune, made a public appeal on a local radio station, imploring for the return of his money. Upon hearing this announcement, Salisu contacted the businessman and proposed a transparent and public return of the money. He suggested that the exchange take place at the same radio station where the appeal was made, ensuring that the return occurred in the presence of witnesses.

The Kano State House of Assembly members believe that Salisu’s unwavering commitment to honesty and the transparent return of the money deserve recognition and reward.

This heartwarming story serves as a powerful reminder that honesty and integrity are values that continue to thrive in society, even in the face of adversity and economic challenges. Salisu’s actions stand as a testament to the enduring importance of these values, inspiring us all to uphold them in our own lives.
