During the visit, Governor Yusuf took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of his administration in the short span of 31 days since assuming office. He underscored significant accomplishments such as the payment of NECO fees for 55,000 secondary school students, amounting to a remarkable N1.5 billion. Additionally, the governor highlighted the restoration of street lights and efforts to reduce incidents of phone snatching in the Kano metropolis.

Furthermore, Governor Yusuf proudly mentioned the resumption of screening for the award of foreign scholarships for Kano indigenes with first-class degrees. He also highlighted the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, as well as the successful evacuation of thousands of tons of refuse within the metropolis.

The governor took the opportunity to seek the continued support of the Royal Father and the Emirate Council for his administration’s policies aimed at fostering development and delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano. He expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Kano and the council members for their visit, which marked a historic occasion since he assumed office.

In response, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, expressed his felicitations to the governor on the occasion of Eid El Kabir. He affirmed his readiness to provide valuable advice that would contribute to the state’s development. The Emir also called on both the government and affluent individuals to assist the less privileged in mitigating the effects of fuel subsidy removal, emphasizing the importance of social support systems.
