The Kano State Government has postponed the resumption date for primary and post-primary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session. Initially, schools were expected to resume on September 9, 2024, but the government made the decision to delay this date.
In a statement released on Saturday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, the Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa, explained that the postponement was due to “urgent reasons” aimed at creating a more conducive learning environment for students. However, Doguwa did not disclose the specific reason behind the decision.
The Ministry assured that a new resumption date would be announced soon and urged pupils, students, parents, and guardians to bear with any inconvenience caused by the delay. The government expressed its commitment to ensuring the best learning atmosphere for children across the state.
The announcement follows concerns about improving the overall quality of education and learning conditions in the state.
This postponement adds to ongoing efforts by the Kano State Government to enhance educational infrastructure and management, particularly in light of challenges faced in previous years.
