Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, OFR, attended the funeral prayer for 15 victims of a recent attack by unknown gunmen in Mera village, Augie Local Government Area. The tragic incident has left the community grieving and calling for justice.
The Deputy Governor, who represented Governor Nasiru Idris, expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He assured them that the state government is committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and will work closely with security agencies to prevent future attacks.
The funeral was attended by several dignitaries, including the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera, and top security officials such as the Commissioner of Police, the Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Army, and the Director of State Security in Kebbi State. Other key government officials, including the Commissioner for Home and Internal Security Affairs and the Civil Defense Commandant, were also present.
