Kebbi Governor Donates New Vehicles to Emirs

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has donated brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to the state’s leading traditional rulers, acknowledging their crucial roles in fostering peace, security, and development. The donation ceremony, held in Birnin Kebbi, saw the governor presenting the keys to the emirs as part of his administration’s broader effort to support traditional institutions.

The recipients of the vehicles include the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu-Bashar, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad-Mera, the Emir of Yauri, Dr Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi, and the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sami. Governor Idris highlighted the significance of traditional rulers in maintaining peace and stability in their communities, stressing that the vehicles would ease their mobility and enhance their ability to serve their people effectively.

During the presentation, the governor emphasized that his administration values the role of traditional leaders in ensuring social cohesion and development. He pointed out that the donation was part of ongoing efforts to provide state officials with the tools needed for optimal performance, noting that government officials, including members of the State House of Assembly and Commissioners, had also recently received new vehicles. He explained that the emirs had been using older vehicles, and the government felt it was necessary to provide them with upgraded transportation.

Governor Idris also noted that the vehicles donated to the emirs are identical to those used by the governor himself, a symbolic gesture reflecting the state government’s high regard for traditional institutions. He remarked that this move aims to preserve the dignity and respect accorded to traditional rulers, ensuring they are recognized with honor wherever they go.
