In a spirited show of support for Governor Nasir Idris’ commitment to youth development, Kebbi State’s Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment, Tasuli Usman Mukhtar, led a powerful Sensitization Campaign Walk on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi. Organized under the dynamic Kaura Skill Up Project, the event drew hundreds of enthusiastic young people, including Alhaji Shehu Idris NUT, brother to the Governor, all united by a shared vision for a prosperous and drug-free future.
Carrying banners with strong messages against drug abuse and praises for Governor Idris’ tireless developmental strides, the youths marched through the streets, echoing the administration’s commitment to building a stronger Kebbi through empowerment and opportunity.
Addressing the vibrant gathering after the walk, Tasuli Usman Mukhtar emphasized the urgent need for youth empowerment through skills acquisition. He underscored the dangers of drug abuse to individuals and society at large, stressing that only strategic investments in youth capacity building could secure the future of the state and the nation.

“Our governor’s deep love for the youth is evident in his appointments of many young people as Commissioners, Special Advisers, and political office holders,” Mukhtar said. “Moreover, the continuous support for students studying both within and outside Nigeria is a testament to his unrelenting drive for youth success.”
Mukhtar passionately reiterated his office’s mission: to steer the youth away from the vices of drug abuse by creating avenues for skills training, job creation, and entrepreneurial opportunities. “Winning the minds of the youth starts by providing meaningful alternatives, and I assure you, under Governor Nasir Idris, we are committed to this path,” he declared.

Adding weight to the campaign, Alhaji Shehu Idris NUT, a strong backer of the Kaura Skill Up Project, spoke on the state government’s giant strides in agriculture, noting the free distribution of fertilizers and solar and CNG-powered irrigation pumps to farmers, with youth as primary beneficiaries. He urged the young people to seize skill acquisition opportunities, warning that drug abuse would only lead to a lifetime of regret, health problems, and loss of legacy.
In a show of partnership, Ibrahim Imam Sokoto from the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kebbi State Command, encouraged the youth to embrace positive values. He pledged the agency’s commitment to offering free rehabilitation and counseling services to those willing to abandon drug abuse and rejoin the path of productivity.
The Kaura Skill Up Project, with Tasuli Usman Mukhtar at the helm, continues to shine as a beacon of hope, aligning perfectly with Governor Nasir Idris’ vision of a Kebbi State where youth are empowered, skilled, and ready to lead the future.
