In a groundbreaking initiative, Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has declared the distribution of two hundred truckloads of grains, free of charge, to the people of the state. The governor aims to significantly alleviate economic hardships faced by the citizens, making this announcement during an event at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi.

Addressing hundreds of vigilant members at the launch of an Appeal Fund organized by the Vigilance Group, Governor Nasir Idris emphasized his administration’s commitment to providing relief to the populace. He assured the people that the assorted grains were procured by the Kebbi State Government, independent of federal assistance.

The governor pledged that this distribution is just the beginning, expressing resilience against detractors and assuring continued positive transformation across various sectors of the economy. He highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize Birnin Kebbi and promised advancements in other local government areas, such as Argungu, Yauri, and Zuru.

Governor Idris further disclosed a strategic move to boost agricultural productivity by providing solar-powered and CNG water pumping machines to farmers free of charge. This initiative aims to encourage more individuals to engage in farming, ultimately ensuring food security for the state.

In acknowledging the crucial role played by vigilantes in enhancing security, the governor commended their efforts and promised sustained material and financial support. He announced plans to equip the security outfit with additional tactical gadgets and operational motorcycles for enhanced performance.

The improved security conditions in Zuru and Yauri were credited for the return of farmers to their fields, resulting in increased food production. Governor Nasir Idris donated N50 million to the State Vigilante Group of Nigeria, reinforcing the state’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment.

Addressing critics, the Kauran Gwandu clarified that the procurement of vehicles for the state legislature and commissioners adhered to legal guidelines. He affirmed his administration’s dedication to supporting security operatives and had previously provided vehicles for their use.

The State Commandant of the Vigilante Group, Sanusi Ibrahim Geza, expressed gratitude for the governor’s continuous support during the event. Governor Idris’s multifaceted approach to economic relief and security enhancement positions Kebbi State on a path of sustainable development.
