In a generous move to support local businesses, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, the Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, contributed ten million naira to entrepreneurs participating in the Ramadan Funfair in Birnin Kebbi. This financial assistance is aimed at boosting their businesses and fostering economic growth within the community.
Addressing the traders at the Presidential Lodge, Hajiya Zainab Nasare emphasized the importance of inclusivity, directing that all participants at the Fair should benefit from this financial boost. She commended those who showcased their products, including foodstuffs and dresses, and offered discounts to buyers.

Encouraging the traders to maintain their dedication, Hajiya Zainab Nasare advised them to continue serving customers, even extending their services to homes to enhance patronage. She applauded the State Coordinator of the Ramadan FunFair, Hajiya Maryam Bello Bala, for her efforts in supporting small-scale and petty traders.
Expressing satisfaction with the expansion of the Ramadan Fair compared to the previous year, the governor’s wife acknowledged the participation of traders from various categories within and outside the state.

During the event, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, stressed the importance of balancing commerce with education for the prosperity and growth of both the economy and society. She emphasized adherence to religious prescriptions in buying and selling as commanded by religious teachings.
The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Nura Fingila, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for providing moral and material support to youths, enabling them to engage in profitable ventures, including marketing.
In her remarks, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Hajiya Aisha Usman, highlighted the values of entrepreneurship. She urged traders to embrace persistence and perseverance as prerequisites for success in their trading activities.
Representatives from SMEDAN and NAFDAC also played a role in enlightening participants about the operations of their respective agencies. The call for traders to formally register their businesses with NAFDAC to obtain legal permission for commercial ventures was particularly emphasized.
Jointly organized by the Association of Kebbi Women Entrepreneurs and the Nasara Foundation, the Ramadan Funfair proved to be a platform not only for economic empowerment but also for fostering community engagement. In a vote of thanks, Alhaji Jamilu Yahaya, the Secretary of Nasara Foundation, expressed appreciation to the governor’s wife for her humanitarian services and dedication to empowering people for self-reliance.
