Kebbi State Accountant General Commends Governor's Commitment to Civil Servants and Socioeconomic Development

In a recent address to reporters in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State’s Accountant General, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, highlighted the unwavering dedication of Governor Nasir Idris’s administration to the welfare of civil servants and the overall socioeconomic progress of the state. Nahaliku emphasized the significant role civil servants play as stakeholders in the nation-building process.

One of the noteworthy achievements of Governor Idris’s administration, as pointed out by Nahaliku, is the consistent and timely payment of salaries to both state and local government employees. He noted that salaries have been disbursed before the twenty-fifth of every month since Governor Idris assumed office on the twenty-ninth of May.

Nahaliku also lauded the Governor’s proactive approach to projects across the state. He stated that funds are promptly released to contractors responsible for various initiatives, including the completion of the long-abandoned ultramodern Secretariat. This development will bring relief to civil servants, particularly those struggling with a shortage of office accommodations.

The Accountant General stressed the importance of civil servants’ support for the government’s efforts to drive positive changes in all sectors of development. He encouraged civil servants to carry out their duties with diligence and patriotism.

Furthermore, Nahaliku issued a vital reminder to project supervisors, urging them to ensure that contract executions align with the bill of quantity and specifications. He cautioned against compromising quality standards, emphasizing the potential risks to lives and properties, especially concerning substandard infrastructure such as roads, bridges, classrooms, and offices.

Addressing the issue of palliatives, Nahaliku disclosed that funds have been allocated for the purchase of various grains to distribute to households in need. This initiative aims to complement the supplies received from the Federal Government and mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the citizens.
