Kebbi State and Qatar Foundation Collaborate to Build 100 Mosques and Boreholes

In a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing religious infrastructure and community well-being, the Kebbi State Government has joined forces with the Qatar Foundation to embark on a project to construct One Hundred mosques and boreholes. This initiative, spearheaded by the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imam Imrana Usman, was unveiled during the opening of a Jumu’ah Mosque in Jega Local Government Area.

Engr Imam Imrana Usman emphasized the significance of religious matters in the lives of Muslims and expressed the state government’s commitment to promoting the sanctity of prayer. He announced that advanced discussions with the Qatar Foundation have paved the way for the construction of over 100 mosques and boreholes across the twenty-one local government areas of Kebbi State.

During the announcement, gratitude was extended to Alhaji Buhari Jega for his substantial contribution to the construction of a new mosque in Jega. The Special Adviser pledged on behalf of the state government to provide a borehole and additional materials as needed by the faithfuls, acknowledging the mosque as a significant worshiping edifice for Muslims.

The Adviser also urged affluent individuals in society to emulate Alhaji Abdullahi Buhari Jega’s philanthropic efforts in supporting religious infrastructure projects. He emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony and tranquillity, calling on adherents of different religions to coexist peacefully.

Prominent Islamic scholars, including Shiek Shehu Buba and representatives from the Dariqa sect in Zamfara, Kano, and Ghana, participated in the Jumu’ah prayer at the newly constructed mosque. Engr Imam Imrana Usman concluded by expressing hope and prayers for Nigeria to overcome its current economic and social challenges.

This collaboration between Kebbi State and the Qatar Foundation signifies a positive step towards enhancing religious facilities and community development, fostering unity and understanding among diverse religious groups.
