
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has officially launched the construction of the Maidangwami-Kangi road in Fakai Local Government area, a project valued at N2.3 billion. This initiative is part of the governor’s efforts to fulfill his campaign promises, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development and rural accessibility.
The Maidangwami-Kangi road project is one of the priority initiatives conceived by the Idris administration, aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic growth in the region. During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Idris expressed his gratitude to the people of Kangi for their support during the 2023 elections. He acknowledged the significance of the project, stating that it would greatly improve the lives of the people in the area.
In addition to improving road infrastructure, the project is also expected to boost agricultural production and marketing in the area. The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Muazu, noted that the road is part of the 350-kilometer rural road projects under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), approved by the governor in 2023. This comprehensive project aims to enhance rural accessibility, promote agricultural development, and stimulate economic growth in the state.
