
In a significant milestone for Kebbi State, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted its license and approval to Rayhaan, the state’s inaugural private university. Set to commence academic activities in January of the upcoming year, Rayhaan University has been given the green light to offer a diverse range of 15 courses.
During the recent NUC resource verification visit to the university’s site at Gesse, Birnin Kebbi, Professor Mohammed Lawal Ahmadu, the Vice Chancellor of Rayhaan University, shared the exciting news with journalists. He emphasized that Rayhaan is distinguished as an ICT-driven academic institution, with a focus on fostering an environment conducive to nurturing well-rounded individuals with robust academic, practical, and ethical foundations.
The university’s commitment to providing quality education is evident through its strategic selection of courses and emphasis on creating a conducive learning environment. Professor Ahmadu highlighted that Rayhaan is among the few private universities in the North West geo-political zone ready to kickstart academic activities following the NUC resource verification visit.

Abubakar Muhammed Altine, the head of the NUC team and acting director of Academic Planning, expressed satisfaction with the proposed courses during the verification visit. He emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to ensure the university’s commitment to delivering quality education, and based on their assessment, they are confident in Rayhaan’s ability to uphold these standards.
