The application process for both the Bursary and Scholarship Awards will commence on Thursday, June 1st, 2023, and will close at midnight on Friday, June 30th, 2023. It is important for all eligible students to purchase and fill out their application forms online before the closing date.

General Applicants:
Eligible students from valid tertiary institutions in Nigeria can apply for the Bursary and Scholarship Awards. The Bursary Award provides financial assistance of N2,500, while the Scholarship Award offers N3,500.
Post Graduate (Masters, PhD) Students:
Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), Masters, and PhD students in Nigeria can apply for the Scholarship Awards at the following rates: N5,000 for Masters and N5,000 for PhD.
Law School / Maritime Academy Students:
Students from the Law School and the Nigerian Maritime Academy can apply for the Bursary Award at the cost of N4,000.
Scholarship Scheme:
The Local Scholarship Award scheme was reinstated in 2001 to support academically brilliant but financially disadvantaged students. The aim is to ensure that no Lagos State indigene studying in any tertiary institution is deprived of the opportunity to pursue their educational aspirations due to financial constraints.
The Scholarship Award is divided into two categories. The first category is awarded on compassionate grounds to primary and secondary school students. The second category is designed to recognize and motivate exceptional academic performance, requiring a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or above, or Second Class Upper/Upper Credit.
Subsequent disbursements of the awards are contingent upon the presentation of a progress report, which serves as evidence that the students have progressed to the next stage of their academic program.
Current Rates of Local Scholarship Awards:
The Lagos State Scholarship Board has set the following rates for approved beneficiaries based on their award category:
- Technical Colleges: N100,000
- Polytechnics/Colleges of Education: N200,000
- First Degree: N200,000
- Masters Degree: N300,000
- Doctorate Degree: N400,000
