Senate Confirms ₦81 Billion Payment Plan
Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, recently met with N-Power beneficiaries, their legal representatives, and key government officials to address the prolonged delay in stipend disbursement.
During the meeting, assurances were given that the Federal Government has already secured approval to release the arrears through a service-wide vote. Beneficiaries, in turn, agreed to suspend legal action after receiving commitments that the backlog will be cleared.
The government pledged that all outstanding stipends will be paid before the end of 2025, once the new budget implementation process begins.
Uncertainty Over New Intakes and Relaunch
While the news on arrears payment is encouraging, there is still no official confirmation on whether N-Power will admit new applicants or resume monthly stipend payments for fresh beneficiaries.
Government sources have remained silent on the programme’s relaunch, leaving many Nigerian youths in suspense about the future of this key empowerment initiative.
