Laylatul Qadr (ليلة القدر), the Night of Decree, is the most sacred night in the Islamic calendar. It is the night when the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) through Angel Jibreel (عليه السلام). Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) describes this night in the Qur’an:
“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3)
On this blessed night, the Rahmah (mercy) of Allah descends, sins are forgiven, and duas are accepted.

Laylatul Qadr falls within the last ten nights of Ramadan, specifically on one of the odd nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th). The 27th night is widely observed, but the Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged seeking it throughout the last ten nights:
“Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan, in the odd nights among them.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
