Man Rewarded with Hajj Slot, Cash, and Bus for Returning Missing N100m

In a heartwarming display of honesty and integrity, Salihu AbdulHadi Kankia, a dedicated member of the First Aid Group of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), has been honored for his noble act of returning a lost bag containing over N100 million.

The recognition unfolded during the closing ceremony for Islamic scholars presenting this year’s Ramadan Tafsir in Bauchi. Engr Mustapha Imam Sitti, National Director of the First Aid Group, introduced Kankia, commending him for his exemplary act that showcased the values of honesty and trustworthiness.

Kankia’s remarkable story began when he stumbled upon a bag containing a substantial sum of money, surpassing one hundred million naira. Rather than succumb to temptation, he promptly reported his discovery to the local police. With their assistance, the rightful owner was located, and upon verification, it was confirmed that nothing was missing from the bag.

The Bauchi State branch of JIBWIS, in a Facebook post, expressed their admiration for Kankia’s honesty. In recognition of his integrity, The Izala group honored him with an award and sponsored his Hajj pilgrimage this year. Furthermore, Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan Bangudu, a member of the Zamfara State Assembly, bestowed upon him a generous gift of two million naira.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State also joined in acknowledging Kankia’s virtuous deed. In a commendable gesture, Governor Mohammed presented Kankia with a bus, providing him with a tangible resource to kickstart a business venture.
