Maryam Shetty Marries in Kano 10 Months After Losing Ministerial Nomination

Maryam Shettima, widely known as Maryam Shetty, has tied the knot with her beloved in a private ceremony held in Kano. The wedding, which took place on Saturday, had remained out of the public eye until the day of the event.

Maryam Shetty, a former ministerial nominee, was once on the verge of becoming a member of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. In August 2023, President Tinubu had nominated her as a ministerial candidate from Kano State.

However, political maneuvers led to her replacement by Dr. Mariya Mahmoud just days before her scheduled Senate screening. The announcement was made by Femi Gbajabiamila, the President’s Chief of Staff, on the same day she was set to be evaluated by lawmakers.

Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, who was Shetty’s classmate, went on to be appointed as the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
