MTN Nigeria has officially announced the commencement of the fourth edition of the mPulse Spelling Bee competition, targeting primary and secondary school students between the ages of 9 and 15. This competition, which began on August 21, combines digital and on-site models and is designed to inspire a love for language, foster lifelong learning, and promote healthy competition among young learners.
Adia Sowho, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of MTN Nigeria, highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment, stating, “Words are the bridge to knowledge; we aim to build the future of our young learners, one letter at a time. Sowho emphasized MTN’s readiness to ignite curiosity and excellence in young minds. She also mentioned their excitement about the upcoming ‘One-day CEO’ initiative.
Since its inception, the competition has empowered over 40,000 Nigerian students with digital skills, educational materials, and resources to maximize their potential. This year, the top 20 finalists will be rewarded with over N18 million worth of prizes, including laptops, smartphones, and goody bags.
Additionally, the winning school will receive cutting-edge ICT devices to facilitate learning. The competition’s champion will also have the unique opportunity to become the next MTN Nigeria CEO for a day and serve as the face of MTN mPulse for one year.
To participate in the competition, students must register on the mPulse website, provided they are subscribed to the mPulse plan. For those not yet on the plan, they can migrate by texting ‘mPulse’ to 344 or dialing *344*1#. The mPulse website offers valuable learning resources and practice materials to help participants prepare for the competition.
