N-Power Payment News For Today 16 October 2023

In a significant development for the N-Power program in Nigeria, Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, has announced plans to settle the beneficiaries of Batch C, who have been owed their monthly stipends for a staggering eight months. This comes in the wake of the Federal Government’s decision to suspend the N-Power program due to the detection of ghost beneficiaries and concerns regarding fund mismanagement by some of its consultants.

The N-Power program, originally established during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was designed to combat youth unemployment by providing beneficiaries with a monthly stipend of N30,000.

Akindele Egbuwalo revealed in a statement that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation had successfully recovered the necessary funds to address the arrears owed to the beneficiaries. During a recent meeting with representatives of N-Power beneficiaries, he stated, “The good news is that the funds have been recovered, and you will be getting your money soon. Payment for N-Power Beneficiaries Batch C who have been owed for eight months will begin shortly.”

Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has been diligently working to rectify the irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives. These irregularities had eroded the confidence of the common man in the government’s ability to provide social safety nets. However, Akindele Egbuwalo assured the public that Dr. Betta Edu is taking all necessary steps to address these issues and fulfill the Renewed Hope Mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Nigerian populace.

Akindele Egbuwalo emphasized that many of the irregularities, which had impeded the smooth execution of the program, are now being tackled. Upon taking office, it was noted that numerous beneficiaries were not receiving their monthly allowances, and funds were being held up by consultants whose contracts had long expired. Egbuwalo’s statement brings hope as he confirmed, “The good news is that the money has been recovered, which will enable the prompt payment of the beneficiaries.”

He urged young Nigerians to exercise patience as the restructuring of the N-Power program is ultimately in their best interest. It is expected to lead to the program’s expansion, providing opportunities for millions of young people across the nation. He also underlined the commitment of President Tinubu to poverty eradication, assuring that the government will deliver on this commitment.

This recent development signals a positive turn of events for N-Power beneficiaries who have been waiting for their owed payments, bringing renewed hope and optimism for a brighter future. The recovery of funds and the commitment of government officials are pivotal steps in ensuring the success of this vital social investment program.
