NAHCO Honours Cleaner For Returning $10,000 Found On Aircraft

Auwal Ahmed Dankode, a dedicated cleaner at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO), has been honoured for his exceptional honesty after returning a staggering $10,000 found on an aircraft at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano.

Dankode’s remarkable story began when he stumbled upon the substantial sum on seat No 25H of Egypt Air’s MS 878 flight, left behind by a careless passenger. Without hesitation, he promptly handed the cash over to the airline’s station manager, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to honesty.

NAHCO, impressed by Dankode’s exemplary conduct, recognized him at a special ceremony at their headquarters in Lagos. The National Orientation Agency (NOA) also acknowledged his selfless act, naming him the Nigerian of the Week. Dankode received a substantial cash prize, an instant promotion, and was appointed as a NAHCO brand ambassador.
