In a recent turn of events, Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis has emphatically declared that the club’s prized asset, Victor Osimhen, will not be sold this summer, even if an astonishing €200 million valuation is met. De Laurentiis made this resolute stance clear during a candid conversation with the Napoli Ultras at a retreat prior to the team’s training session in Abruzzo.
This announcement comes on the heels of De Laurentiis’s rejection of a lucrative €130 million bid from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal for the Nigerian striker. Instead of entertaining offers, the club president is dedicating his efforts to securing Osimhen’s long-term commitment by engaging in negotiations for a new contract extension.

“I’m not selling Osimhen even for €200 million,” De Laurentiis affirmed, according to quotes attributed to him by Calcio Napoli. “And he is not leaving.”
Napoli’s commitment to retaining Osimhen’s services is further underscored by their determination to provide him with a stable environment for his development. Osimhen recently suffered a setback during training when he sprained his right ankle in a collision with new teammate Natan de Souza. The severity of the injury prompted him to curtail his participation in training, casting some uncertainty on his availability for Napoli’s upcoming pre-season match against Greek club Apollon.

The 24-year-old’s absence from recent matches against Augsburg and Girona was due to a prior muscle strain. The club’s medical staff is working diligently to ensure Osimhen’s full recovery and potential involvement in the final pre-season game, which will be a critical test ahead of Napoli’s Serie A title defense, set to kick off against Frosinone.
Osimhen’s remarkable performance during the previous season made him an indispensable asset for Napoli. His astounding tally of 26 goals in just 32 appearances secured him the title of the league’s top scorer, an accolade that also earned him the prestigious Golden Boot award. This historic achievement positions Osimhen as the first African player to claim this honor in the league’s storied history.
As Napoli continues their rigorous training at the Aqua Montis Resort and Spa in Rivisondoli, anticipation builds for the forthcoming Serie A campaign. With President De Laurentiis’s unwavering stance and Osimhen’s exceptional talents, the club is poised to make a resounding statement in the upcoming season.
