As of Thursday, December 21, 2023, NASIMS, through its official Facebook page, provided a reassuring message indicating that N-Power Batch C2 beneficiaries are currently receiving their long-awaited arrears. The post stated, “Kindly note, as payment is ongoing, C2 beneficiaries are being attended to at the moment. Keep following!”

Betta Edu’s Assurance:

Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, echoed this positive development in an interview with Channels Television on Thursday night. She assured N-Power beneficiaries across the nation that the payment of arrears, which commenced on Wednesday, December 20, will persist until every eligible individual is duly compensated.

Edu stated, “Presently, payment for N-Power is ongoing; we were in the office yesterday up until the early hours of this morning, just to ensure that young people get monies which they have been owed from the last government. So, N-Power beneficiaries across the nation, I am sure you can attest to the fact that you are seeing your money in your accounts, and this process will continue until the last person who indeed has served is being paid.”

Government’s Commitment to Job Creation:

The restructuring of the N-Power scheme is positioned as a vital component of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration’s strategy to reduce unemployment and foster job creation in Nigeria. Betta Edu emphasized that the entire process is geared towards enhancing economic opportunities for the nation’s youth.

She explained, “And of course, all of this is being restructured to ensure that we reduce unemployment and create jobs for Nigerians.”

Non-graduate Program Still Active:

Contrary to speculation, N-Power has clarified that its non-graduate program remains active. However, all programs are currently on hold as the government conducts investigations, spearheaded by Betta Edu, into the operations of the scheme.

FG’s Announcement on Backlogs Payment:

In a related development, the Federal Government has announced its readiness to commence the payment of nine months of backlogs to N-Power beneficiaries who were part of the program. NASIMS, the agency overseeing the N-Power initiative, affirmed that the arrears would be settled once the ongoing restructuring phase is successfully completed.

N-Power’s Position on NEXIT:

Responding to inquiries from the public, N-Power has clarified that it does not possess any information regarding the NEXIT program. The scheme, which has been a crucial lifeline for many Nigerians, seems to be navigating a comprehensive transformation under the current government.

Conclusion:

As NASIMS continues to ensure the smooth disbursement of arrears to N-Power beneficiaries, the government’s commitment to job creation and addressing unemployment challenges is evident. The ongoing restructuring of the N-Power scheme signifies a proactive approach to enhancing the impact of social investment programs and uplifting the economic prospects of the nation’s youth.
