In a significant victory against transnational criminal organizations, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) successfully intercepted millions of tramadol pills and thousands of codeine bottles, preventing a flood of illicit drugs into Nigerian communities during the festive season.
The operation, carried out by NDLEA operatives in collaboration with customs officials and other stakeholders, resulted in the seizure of 7.5 million tramadol 225mg pills at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The pills, concealed as tamol-x in 100 large cartons, arrived on a Turkish airline flight from Hamburg, Germany, marking the first such shipment from this location.

In the cargo terminal of the Lagos airport, a consignment of spare parts originating from Asaba, Delta state, was found to contain 200 grams of cocaine.
