
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named former U17 World Cup winner, Manu Garba, as the new Head Coach of the Nigeria U17 boys, Golden Eaglets. The announcement was made by Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications at NFF, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.
Garba previously led the Golden Eaglets to victory in the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013. Under his guidance, the squad showcased remarkable talent, including players like Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Isaac Success.

During the 2013 campaign, the Golden Eaglets exhibited their prowess by defeating Mexico 6-1 in their opening game and securing impressive victories throughout the tournament. Their journey culminated in a triumphant 3-0 win over Mexico in the final, clinching the coveted trophy.
Garba’s appointment comes ahead of the team’s preparations for the WAFU B U17 Championship, slated to take place in Ghana in May. With his wealth of experience and proven track record, Garba is expected to lead the Golden Eaglets to further success on the international stage.
