The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released important information regarding its Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted applicants. If you are preparing for the recruitment exam, here are the key updates you should know.
Contents
How the CBT Exam Will Be Conducted
The CBT will be taken online, allowing candidates to participate from any location with strong internet connectivity. However, note that only laptops or desktop computers with functional webcams are supported — mobile phones are not allowed.
Before you begin the test, your identity will be confirmed through facial verification. Any background noise, excessive movement, or attempt to switch browser windows during the exam may lead to automatic disqualification.
Pre-Test and Main Examination
Applicants will receive two different links:
- Pre-Test Link – This serves as a practice trial to help candidates get familiar with the system. It usually takes place two days before the real exam.
- Main CBT Link – This is the actual examination link that will be shared after the pre-test.
Candidates applying for the Superintendent Cadre may have an additional CBT session. Only those who perform well will move to the next stage, which includes the final physical screening.

Many applicants are worried because they have not yet received the CBT email. The NCS has clarified that messages are being sent in batches. If yours has not arrived, don’t panic — remain patient as more emails are still being delivered.
How to Print Your Application and Acknowledgement Slips
All applicants are advised to reprint their slips as they may be required during the screening stages. To do this:
- Visit the official recruitment portal: recruitment.customs.gov.ng
- Click on Print Acknowledgement Slip or Print Application Slip.
- Enter your NIN number and click on Print to download your documents.
Final Note for Applicants
Stay calm, follow all exam rules, and avoid any form of malpractice. Missing the pre-test or ignoring instructions could cost you your chance in this recruitment exercise.
