In a recent announcement, the Nigerian government has declared a delay in the disbursement of January salaries for all federal civil servants. This decision, communicated through a memo from the National Mathematical Center in Abuja, is attributed to the ongoing finalization of the 2024 Appropriation on the GIFMIS platform by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
According to the memo signed by the acting bursar, Pius Ukwah, the Personnel Warrant for the month of January 2024 is yet to be released as the AGF’s office works diligently to complete the budgetary processes. The delay is expected to affect not only the National Mathematical Center but various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the country.
