
Nigerian footballer Akor Adams has completed a move to Sevilla FC on a five-year contract, securing his place at the Spanish club until 2029. The 24-year-old striker’s arrival further strengthens Sevilla’s attacking options as they aim to compete at the highest level in La Liga and Europe.
Adams joins Sevilla from Montpellier HSC, where he had an impressive season, contributing three goals and three assists in 15 appearances. His move to Montpellier came after a successful period at Norwegian club Lillestrøm SK, where he displayed remarkable form, scoring 17 goals in 17 matches during the 2023 season, briefly topping the European Golden Shoe standings.
The Nigerian forward’s career began in Norway with Sogndal IL in 2018, before his move to Lillestrøm. Over his time in Norway, Adams netted 16 goals in 56 appearances, showcasing his goal-scoring ability and earning him a place in the French Ligue 1 with Montpellier.
On the international stage, Adams has represented Nigeria, featuring for the U-20 team in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland. His talent and consistency have now earned him a high-profile move to one of La Liga’s top clubs.
With Adams’ addition to the squad, Sevilla’s attacking depth is further enhanced, joining fellow Nigerians Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho at the club. Fans will be eager to see how Adams can contribute to Sevilla’s success in the upcoming seasons.
