In a significant move towards unity, the North-Central All Progressives Congress, APC, Forum has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu and National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. This decision follows the recent National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting, which ratified the zoning of the party’s chairmanship to the North-West, effectively validating Ganduje’s leadership.
Previously, the North-Central APC Forum had expressed concerns over the leadership structure, advocating for the completion of former Chairman Abdullahi Adamu’s tenure by a representative from their zone. This led to legal actions and internal debates. However, with the NEC’s latest resolutions, the Forum has chosen to cease all agitations and align with the party’s national directives.
Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum and a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 elections, stated, “As loyal party members interested in the progress of the APC, we agree with all the decisions taken at the NEC meeting. We endorse the vote of confidence passed on President Bola Tinubu and the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.”
This endorsement signifies a strategic shift, emphasizing the Forum’s commitment to fostering unity and supporting the party’s leadership. The NEC meeting also highlighted the party’s achievements under President Tinubu’s administration, including advancements in infrastructure, security, and economic policies.
The APC’s focus now is on reconciliation and strengthening internal cohesion. President Tinubu has urged the National Working Committee, NWC, to establish committees aimed at engaging with and addressing concerns of aggrieved members, ensuring a harmonious environment as the party prepares for future elections.
