The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) detailed the outcomes of a five-day year-end party meeting, where pivotal military, political, and economic decisions were made for the upcoming year. Plans for 2024 include the launch of three additional spy satellites, the development of unmanned drones, and the enhancement of electronic warfare capabilities. The military agenda also involves strengthening nuclear and missile forces, as well as maintaining an “overwhelming war response capability.”
Kim Jong Un, in a lengthy speech, vehemently criticized the United States, accusing the nation of posing “various forms of military threat.” He explicitly directed his armed forces to be prepared for any eventuality and to ensure continuous readiness for a potential crisis, especially in the nuclear realm. The meeting concluded with a stark assessment that it is a “fait accompli that a war may break out on the Korean peninsula any time” due to perceived provocative actions by enemies.
