The National Population Commission has announced a new date for the LGA Level Training of NPC Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors, as part of preparations for the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise.
The Commission also released a Revised 2023 Census Work Plan, which outlines the new schedule of activities. As part of the plan, Refreshers (Virtual Training) for State Level Facilitators and Specialised WorkForce will commence on 6th March, 2023 and ends on 12th March, 2023.
In preparation for the NPC Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors LGA Level Training, the LGA Level Trainers will travel down to various LGA Level Training Centers between 13th and 14th March, 2023. As a pre-activity before the LGA Level Training and Person Enumeration, assessment of Training Centers for the 2023 Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) will be conducted between 13th March, 2023 to 20th March, 2023.

NPC Enumerators and Supervisors New Training Date
The LGA Level Training for Enumerators and Supervisors will feature a Training on Building Numbering and Household Listing which will be conducted between 15th March, 2023 and 21st March, 2023, while Profiling of Enumerators and Supervisors for the Main Census would be conduct within the same period.
NPC New Date for the 2023 Census Exercise
The Revised 2023 Census Work Plan also reveals that the National Population Commission intends to reschedule the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise. In the new schedule, the Enumeration of Persons, which was earlier scheduled to begin on 29th March, 2023 and ends 02 April, 2023, has been rescheduled to commence on 3rd May, 2023 and ends on 7th May, 2023.
This rescheduling is necessary to ensure that all necessary preparations have been made and that the census exercise will be conducted accurately and efficiently. It is important for everyone to cooperate with the National Population Commission and its staff during the census exercise. Accurate and reliable data will help the government to make informed decisions and plan for the future.
The Post-Enumeration Survey (PES) is also an important step in ensuring the accuracy of the census data. The PES will be conducted after the census exercise to assess the accuracy of the data collected during the enumeration process.
