In a significant development, the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has revealed its plan to commence the disbursement of outstanding stipends for former N-Power beneficiaries. Scheduled to take place from November 20 to 30, 2023, the payments will cover a nine-month period.
The N-Power program, initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016, aims to address youth unemployment and enhance social development in Nigeria. The recent announcement follows the completion of BVN validation, with beneficiaries experiencing “Pending” status in their payroll assured of imminent payments.
While the N-Power portal remains temporarily suspended, Minister Betta Edu is actively working to clear pending stipend payments and redesign the program into the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP). The redesigned initiative is anticipated to contribute significantly to job creation in Nigeria.
Prospective applicants keen on N-Power’s 2023 recruitment are advised to stay tuned for updates, as the registration portal is not yet open. The Minister has assured the public that communication regarding the new recruitment will follow the completion of pending payments to beneficiaries.
As NASIMS prepares for the disbursement, beneficiaries are encouraged to monitor official channels for any updates on the exact date of payment. The Ministry has affirmed its commitment to addressing payment failures and ensuring a seamless process for N-Power Batch C Volunteers.
This development comes amidst ongoing efforts to tackle misappropriation of funds from the previous administration, emphasizing the government’s dedication to transparency and accountability in social investment programs.
