The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Kebbi State chapter, has commended Governor Nasir Idris for promptly approving and implementing the new minimum wage for local government workers.
In a statement, the union’s state chairman, Comrade Faruk Abubakar Sadiq, described the Governor’s action as a demonstration of his dedication to improving the welfare of workers in the state. Comrade Faruk noted that Governor Idris had promised to prioritize the new minimum wage and has now fulfilled this commitment, earning the appreciation of NULGE members.
The union confirmed that the implementation has benefited 49,150 workers across Kebbi State’s 21 local government areas and 24,300 staff of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

NULGE assured its members that the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is ready to address any issues arising from the payment process. Workers experiencing payment omissions or related issues have been encouraged to report through their respective Directors of Finance and Supply for onward resolution by the Ministry.
The State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Usman Adamu Isgogo, also lauded the Governor for extending the new minimum wage to teachers, further reflecting his administration’s commitment to worker welfare.
Governor Idris’ swift action on the new minimum wage demonstrates his focus on fulfilling campaign promises and improving the lives of public servants across Kebbi State.
