In a recent update from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), it has been revealed that a staggering 1,072,122 candidates have successfully registered for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). As the registration process enters its fourth week, prospective candidates are urged to complete their registration promptly, with the February 26th, 2024 deadline looming. The announcement was made through the weekly bulletin of the board, emphasizing the importance of timely registration and adherence to guidelines.
For those yet to register, comprehensive step-by-step application documents can be found on the official JAMB website. The board has also issued a stern warning that there may not be any extension beyond the specified deadline. To facilitate exam preparation, JAMB recommends downloading the Myschool JAMB CBT Mobile App for Android phones or the Myschool JAMB CBT Software for computer systems. Both resources boast over 60,000 JAMB past questions, answers, and explanations to aid candidates in their preparations.
During a recent tour of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Ibadan, Mr. Olugbenga Akintola, the Acting Director of the Ibadan Zonal Office of JAMB, reiterated the importance of compliance with the board’s directives. He emphasized the need for thorough authentication of candidates individually through their profile codes and ePINs. This measure aims to prevent group registrations and data mismatches, ensuring accurate and reliable candidate information.

The Board has mandated all prospective candidates to display their profile codes and e-PINs, obtained through the Board’s USSD code 55019 or 66019, on their mobile phones. This precautionary step aims to prevent errors in crucial candidate information such as names, date of birth, and state/local government of origin. In the past, errors of this nature have resulted in candidates having to file applications for data correction, with no guarantee of approval.
As the registration deadline approaches, candidates are urged to adhere to the guidelines provided by JAMB to ensure a smooth and error-free registration process. The significant number of registered candidates underscores the importance of timely preparation and compliance with the board’s directives for a successful 2024 UTME.
