Photos: NDLEA Warns of Dangerous New Drug Trends in Lagos, Kano, and Other States

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a serious warning after recent drug seizures in Lagos, Kano, and other states revealed disturbing trends among youths. These substances, which are being abused under alarming street names, include New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) and other hazardous drugs.

Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, shared images and video footage of the confiscated drugs on social media, bringing attention to substances with shocking names such as “Suck & Die,” “Rubber Solution,” “Dead Man,” and “Gelato.” These names are being used by dealers to mask the dangerous nature of the substances.

Babafemi urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to stay alert and take proactive steps to identify these harmful trends in their communities. He stressed the importance of vigilance in order to protect young people from falling victim to the growing drug abuse crisis.

“Narco-trend update: Parents, shine your eyes! Latest seizures by @ndlea_nigeria officers in Lagos, Kano, and other states reveal scary names of some substances, including NPS, that we should all watch out for in our homes and communities,” Babafemi said in his message.

With this warning, the NDLEA calls for a collective effort in combatting the rise of these dangerous drugs, urging everyone to be more mindful of the substances that may be circulating in their areas.
