President Tinubu Appoints Khalil Halilu as New Head of NASENI, Replaces Dr. Bashir Gwandu

In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has made changes to the leadership of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). Dr. Bashir Gwandu, who served as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, has been relieved of his duties, with President Tinubu approving the appointment of Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the new head of NASENI.

This pivotal decision was communicated through a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, in Abuja on Friday.

Khalil Suleiman Halilu, a 32-year-old with a background in innovation and technology, is set to take the helm at NASENI, bringing his substantial expertise to this crucial national role. According to the statement, Mr. Halilu’s appointment comes with an initial term of five years, in accordance with the relevant sections of the NASENI Act, 2014.

The announcement marks a transition in the leadership of NASENI, as Dr. Bashir Gwandu’s tenure as EVC/CEO has come to an end, as directed by President Tinubu. The change in leadership is effective immediately.
