President Tinubu Sacks NCC, NIPOST, NIGCOMSAT's Bosses, Names Replacements

In a decisive move, President Bola Tinubu has made significant changes to the leadership of key agencies within the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy. The affected agencies, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), and the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), have seen their chief executives replaced.

Through a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu announced the immediate removal of the following CEOs:

Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta – CEO of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Sunday Adepoju – CEO of Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).
Tukur Funtua – CEO of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).

Their replacements have now taken the helm:

Aminu Maida has been appointed as the new Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NCC.
Nkechi Egerton-Idehen will now serve as the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT.
Tola Odeyemi has taken on the role of Postmaster General of NIPOST.

While this change in leadership is a significant development, it is not without some continuity. President Tinubu has also made the decision to reappoint:

Kashifu Abdullahi as the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
Dr. Vincent Olatunji as the National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Additionally, the President has introduced a new Special Adviser on Technology and Digital Economy, Idris Alubankudi, to his team.
