Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Adebayo Adelabu, expressed concern over the lack of supervision and oversight of the CBN’s activities by the economic management ministries of the Federal Government.
Notably, Senator Sunday Karimi raised a petition against Nasir el-Rufai, citing issues related to insecurity in Southern Kaduna. Despite the petition, other senators commended el-Rufai’s competence, emphasizing that his track record makes him a suitable candidate for the ministerial position.
The screening of the 28 nominees is expected to conclude today, paving the way for the unveiling of the next set of nominees by Wednesday. The Senate aims to complete the entire screening process before going on recess to avoid any delays in forming the new government.
President Tinubu’s vision, as outlined by Nasir el-Rufai during the screening, is to achieve uninterrupted power supply within seven years, a goal that aligns with addressing one of Nigeria’s significant challenges.
