In a significant development, the President of the Confederation of African Football Federations (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has confirmed the attendance of President Bola Tinubu at the much-anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final between Nigeria and the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Abidjan on Friday, where Motsepe expressed his optimism about the upcoming final on Sunday.
Motsepe, who is evidently looking forward to the grand event, shared his excitement about the presence of President Tinubu, stating, “I was told the President of Nigeria is coming. I was sitting next to the Vice President during the Nigeria-South Africa game. While I can’t show excitement when any nation scores, they said they could see my happiness. And yes, I am always happy.”
