The Police Service Commission (PSC) has once again clarified that the Nigerian Police recruitment portal is not open, warning Nigerians to disregard the growing number of fake websites and social media posts claiming that online recruitment has started.
This update comes at a time when thousands of job seekers are actively searching for opportunities within the Nigeria Police Force, leading to increased circulation of misleading links and unofficial application portals. According to PSC statements released through verified channels and national media reports, no recruitment exercise has been announced for 2025, and no application portal is currently active.
The Commission explained that all recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force follows an official process that must be publicly announced through the PSC website, national newspapers, and recognized government communication platforms. Any portal asking for applications, documents, or payment at this time is considered fraudulent.

The PSC also noted that fake recruitment portals usually appear during periods of high unemployment, targeting young Nigerians who are eager to join the police. These unofficial sites often request sensitive personal information or demand money for forms, screenings, or training slots. The Commission advised the public to avoid such platforms completely and report suspicious links when possible.
Citizens are urged to wait for an official announcement from the PSC before submitting any application. Authentic recruitment information will only appear on the official PSC website, its verified social media pages, and reputable national news outlets. The Commission emphasized that applicants should never pay money to anyone claiming to facilitate recruitment, as the process remains free and transparent once it officially begins.
For now, Nigerians should remain patient and vigilant. While the recruitment portal is currently closed, the PSC is expected to make future announcements when the time is right. Until then, job seekers are strongly encouraged to rely only on verified sources and avoid falling victim to misleading online adverts.
