In a bid to prevent potential unrest in Bichi town, security forces sealed off the entrance to the Kofar Kudu palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Friday. This action followed reports of community resistance to the Emir’s planned visit for the installation of a district head in Bichi.
According to reliable sources, the measure was taken to maintain law and order as tensions simmered over the decision to install a district head in the town. Many residents of Bichi expressed dissatisfaction, arguing that the move would diminish the town’s status.
