In a tragic turn of events, Halliru Liman, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Wusagu Police Division in Kebbi State, was allegedly killed by a soldier at a military checkpoint in Zamfara State. Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, described the incident as both “alarming and unacceptable.” He noted that the DPO’s identification should have guaranteed his safety and expressed deep concern over the soldier’s aggressive and deadly response.
