The Super Falcons of Nigeria have retained their 36th position in the most recent FIFA Women’s World Ranking, as announced on Friday, June 14, 2024. Despite their stable ranking, the Falcons continue to lead the African rankings.
In the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, where they are grouped with world champions Spain and Japan, Nigeria faces tough competition. Their fellow Group C contender, Brazil, also saw a slight rise in the rankings to the 9th position.

The Super Falcons’ last significant climb in the rankings occurred in August 2023, moving up eight places following their commendable performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Despite being in a challenging group with Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland, Nigeria advanced to the round of 16 before narrowly losing to England in a penalty shootout.
Looking ahead, the next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be released on August 16, 2024, reflecting further developments in the global women’s football landscape.
