The directive was made public by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, during a one-day retreat organized by the State House management in Abuja. “During recent protests, concerns were raised about the reduction in the cost of governance. The President has made it clear that this administration will not tolerate the misuse of official delegations for personal gain. If you do not have a specific role at the UN General Assembly, you are not to travel to America. This is a directive directly from Mr. President,” Gbajabiamila stated.

Compliance with civil service rules, especially regarding recruitment, promotion, and presidential approvals, is non-negotiable,” Gbajabiamila concluded.
