Troops’ Successes Extend Beyond Plateau
The Nigerian Army has made significant strides across other regions in the fight against terrorism. Troops in Kyaram village, Kanam LGA of Plateau, foiled another kidnapping attempt and successfully rescued two victims. Their prompt action demonstrated the military’s growing efficiency in responding to threats and protecting vulnerable communities.
In Borno State, troops ambushed a group of terrorists attempting to move from the notorious Sambisa Forest to the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza LGA. In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were neutralized, marking yet another victory in the ongoing battle against insurgents in the North-East.
Kaduna State also witnessed a major breakthrough, as soldiers stormed a terrorist hideout in Gobarawa Forest, Birnin Gwari area. The terrorists, overwhelmed by the military’s presence, fled the scene, leaving behind critical weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and five motorcycles. These seizures significantly weaken the terrorists’ logistical capabilities and contribute to long-term security efforts in the region.
Army Chief Commends Troops
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, lauded the troops for their unwavering dedication to combating terrorism. He emphasized the need to maintain the momentum, urging the troops to continue their offensive operations to eliminate criminal elements and secure the nation.
Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja reiterated the Army’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and neutralizing their safe havens across the country. His words of encouragement reflect the military’s resolve to sustain pressure on terrorists, further boosting the morale of troops actively engaged in combat missions.
National Security Efforts Intensified
As the Nigerian Army steps up its operations across multiple states, these successes reflect the nation’s broader security strategy. The combination of intelligence-driven operations, community collaboration, and well-executed ambushes has led to a significant reduction in terrorist activities.
The government’s dedication to empowering the military with advanced equipment and tactical support is also yielding positive results. The rescue of kidnapped victims and the elimination of terrorist leaders are pivotal steps in restoring peace and stability to conflict-affected regions.
These achievements are part of ongoing national efforts to combat insecurity and protect citizens from the growing threat of terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping.
