The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) is offering a six-week paid internship for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on research experience in environmental science. The program runs from 30 June to 8 August 2025, with a stipend of £2,847 (before deductions). Internships are available at Bangor, Edinburgh, Lancaster, and Wallingford, and candidates can apply for multiple projects.
This internship provides a unique chance to work alongside top scientists, develop coding and analytical skills, and contribute to groundbreaking research. Projects cover a wide range of topics, including biodiversity, climate change, ecological modelling, satellite imagery analysis, soil science, and AI applications in environmental research. Some projects require skills in Python, R, GIS, and lab work, while others focus on policy and international development.
Who Can Apply?
Undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students, or graduates within six months before the start date.
Must have the right to live and work in the UK during the internship.
Must be available full-time (37 hours per week) for the six-week program.
