Union Bank Commences BVN Verification for YEIDEP Grant Disbursement of ₦50,000 to ₦500,000

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Empowerment Programme (YEIDEP) has taken another step forward, and Union Bank is now leading the disbursement process.

Union Bank has officially started Bank Verification Number (BVN) checks for applicants who submitted their account details through the bank. This follows the successful collation of bank account data linked to shortlisted YEIDEP beneficiaries. The grant amount ranges from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 and will be released only to those who pass the BVN verification stage.

The purpose of the BVN check is to confirm that applicants are genuine and that the submitted details match the individual’s bank records. This step is also designed to prevent multiple entries, reduce fraud, and ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive the grant.

This verification stage currently applies only to applicants who chose Union Bank during their YEIDEP application. Other banks, including Access Bank, Zenith Bank, First Bank, and UBA, are still completing earlier phases such as document screening and identity validation. Those banks are expected to begin their BVN checks in the coming weeks.

Applicants connected to Union Bank are advised to make sure their BVN details, names, phone numbers, and bank information match what they submitted. Mismatched or incorrect information may delay the payment or result in removal from the beneficiary list.

To stay eligible and avoid disqualification, all applicants should avoid registering multiple times, ignore unofficial links, and wait for further instructions through SMS or verified email updates.

Once Union Bank completes its BVN verification, payment disbursement will follow. This means that Union Bank applicants may be the first group to receive funds under the YEIDEP initiative.

YEIDEP is a national government program aimed at supporting Nigerian youths, reducing unemployment, and helping small businesses with grant funding. Thousands of beneficiaries are expected to be paid in batches, and Union Bank’s progress indicates that its applicants are ahead in the process.

Applicants are encouraged to monitor official YEIDEP channels for the next update, which may include payment schedules and confirmation messages for approved recipients.
